The NMI Council for the Humanities kicked off CNMI Humanities Month with a chacha dance fundraiser on October 9th attended by over 100 guests.
"Blame it on the Cha Cha Cha" featured live music from Parker, Maggie Naputi and Burning Bush at the Saipan World Resort Jungle Stage.
The highlight of the evening was a Cha Cha contest won by Alex and Nora Sablan. Second place was snagged by John Gonzales and Laura Brown. Third place went to Zhai Lanjiang and Wen Qian.
Funds raised by the event will be used by the Council to support its public programs and community grants.
